Dog Training Services

Paw & Order Washington offers the following dog training programs. Contact us today to get scheduled or for more information.

Most issues start at your house, so it’s best to deal with them in their own environment. As training progresses, we may move the lessons to public areas in order to work with distractions. Our adult program is commitment-based, which means we work with you until all of your goals are met, no matter how lengthy the training is. Learn more >>

If you are looking for a fast way to train your dog(s) and find you do not have the time or skills to commit, our Board & Train Program may be a good option for you. It’s an intense lifestyle training program where we welcome your dog(s) into one of our experienced trainers’ home for 3 to 6 weeks (or more depending on the situation) and work through all of the issues you are having. Your dog(s) will not only receive hours of one-on-one training every day, but they’ll also benefit from socializing with our dogs and other dogs. Learn more >>

Similar to our Board & Train program, but not as long or as intense. This is perfect if you are traveling and would like your dog’s obedience tightened up.

This is not your typical pet store obedience class! Learn more >>

We offer prep classes and evaluations for the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program. Learn more >>

We hold various adventures throughout the year, usually once or twice every weekend. They typically include 10 to 20 dogs (though we’ve had as many as 30), and usually take place at local parks or trails. Learn more >>

Meet the Pack

Christie Kelly

Owner & Head Trainer

Christie Kelly, Owner and Head Trainer of the Washington, PA territory, is a proud wife and mother of two, who has a lifetime of experience caring for dogs. She is a certified CGC evaluator and a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). Christie first learned of Elissa Weimer, founder of Paw & Order, in 2013 when an acquaintance mentioned how satisfied she was with her training. She joined the Paw & Order family in 2016 as a volunteer because she loved the idea of working with dogs for a living and hoped to someday make that a reality.

Christie has three dogs of her own and one “grand pup.” Paisley is a 7 year-old Yorkie Poo who is a big dog in a little dog’s body! She holds down the fort with the other dogs. Louie is a 3 year-old Brindle Boxer who is the sweetest boy going. He could teach the world a few things about being kind. Louie hasn’t met a human or dog who he doesn’t like. Giuseppe (Joey), a 2-year old Blue Fawn French Bulldog, is a mama’s boy through and through. Let’s just say that it’s a good thing he’s cute! Bub, Christie’s daughter’s dog, is a white French Bulldog, who provides comic relief and whose personality is larger than life!

Christie also enjoys narcotics detection work. She is part of the Narcotics Detection Team with American K9 Detection and is a member of Dogs for Law Enforcement (DLE). She went through the Paw & Order Dog Training Academy, and has attended other seminars, including “Aggression Mastermind,” hosted by Ted Efthymiadis in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Kara Hoffman

Professional Dog Trainer

Kara has known for years she wanted to work with dogs. She started volunteering at animal shelters in 2017 and knew helping and working with dogs was her passion. She has worked at animal shelters, including the Washington Area Humane Society, veterinary hospitals, and doggy day cares. She attended the 2020 virtual “Aggression in Dogs” seminar with Michael Shikashio and Trisha McMillan.

She loves dogs of all kinds, especially her Aussie duo Indigo and Yogi. She’s worked with many breeds, personalities, and sizes, as well as dog-reactive and human-reactive dogs. Not only has she worked with the behaviors of dogs, but she’s chosen forever homes for dogs in animal shelters.

Kara graduated from the Paw & Order Dog Training Academy in early 2021 and has been working with clients and their pups ever since. She has also successfully completed the Mango Dogs online training seminar focusing on dog aggression rehabilitation.

Madi White

Professional Dog Trainer

Madi has had a love for dogs ever since she was young and always knew she wanted to work with them in some way. She began working with dogs in 2018 and from there, her passion grew. She has worked in doggy daycares, boarding kennels, and animal shelters.

She has experience working with dogs of all different backgrounds, breeds, sizes and temperaments, and has worked with both dog-reactive and human-reactive dogs. She loves all dogs, but has a special passion for the bully breeds, especially her trio: Raina, Mac, and Cheese! She graduated from the Paw & Order Dog Training Academy in 2022 and has been loving every second of being a professional dog trainer!

Jocelyn Roach

Office Manager

Jocelyn became a part of the Paw & Order family in 2019 when she started her dog, Rocket, on his Service Dog journey. Head Trainer of our Harmony Pack, Tia, helped them through many hours of training and the tools needed to succeed from Paw & Order. Two lives were improved and they continue together as a tremendous working team!

Jocelyn started out working for our Harmony Pack, but has since teamed up with Christie and her Pack! You will speak with Jocelyn when you call – you might also see her and Rocket on various Paw & Order Adventures and supporting the trainers in many ways. Jocelyn is also volunteering with a local canine Search and Rescue Team.
