Welcome! I’m Elissa Weimer-Sentner, owner & founder of Paw & Order.
When I started this company in 2013, I had no idea what to expect. I came across an opportunity to work with dogs and be my own boss, and I jumped on it. I didn’t realize that it would lead me a never-ending journey of canine education.
My extensive experience and understanding of advanced training methodologies shape our dedicated approach to pet training. As a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and former Chair of the Therapy Dog Committee of the International Association of Canine Professionals, I am committed to promoting responsible dog ownership and strengthening the bond between humans and their pets.
With a background as a Combat Military Police Officer (2007-2014), I was chosen for a selective Professional Dog Training Program in Delaware. This experience, combined with my passion for canine wellness, allows me to create tailored training plans focused on mutual trust and respect. I also work closely with the Humane Society, using my 11 personal dogs to help socialize and evaluate shelter dogs, emphasizing community service and their well-being.

I continuously learn new techniques to share with trainers nationwide. Although I focus on reliable family dogs, I’ve ventured into K9 Narcotics Detection (winning a national competition) and now train dogs for film and television. My love for animals extends to my Paw & Order ranch, where I have peacocks, micro cows, mini pigs, and more, which I incorporate into training sessions with clients’ dogs!

Your dog will undergo real-world training while in our care for approximately 3 weeks, receiving one-on-one sessions, socializing with other dogs, and honing their skills on field trips.
Our trainer comes to your home and works with you and your dog in their familiar environment. Our most popular package offers everything you need to achieve your training goals together.
Skip the puppy chaos and start with a fully-trained companion. This 6–8 week luxury immersion handles the hardest early months for you, including housebreaking, crate training, and real-world socialization.
Our group class focuses on fundamental obedience skills. With a maximum of 5 dogs per class, you and your dog will receive ample attention from the instructor.
Limited availability! Our trainer will meet with you virtually, observe and assess the dog's behavior issues, and provide step by step guidance.
All of our training curriculum is customized for each dog, but with our Hybrid program, we can combine various programs (i.e. in-home AND stay & train). Contact us for details.
Join our CGC prep group class or we can certify your dog to be officially recognized as a Good Canine Citizen by the AKC.
Our favorite service is FREE to our clients - we organize fun activities for our clients and their dogs. Join us at the bar or at the trail, just be sure to bring your dog!
In the Pittsburgh canine justice system, the dogs are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: The professional dog trainers, who investigate and solve the dog’s behavior problems; and the dog owners, who uphold the training knowledge taught to them.
