If you’re looking for a professional dog trainer in Butler, PA — or anywhere across Butler County, portions of Beaver County and Lawrence County, Cranberry Township, Zelienople, Mars, Harmony, Ellwood City, Beaver Falls, Slippery Rock, or the surrounding region — Tia Ybarra and the Paw & Order Harmony Pack are ready to help.

Paw & Order Dog Training serves the Butler area through our local team, the Paw & Order Harmony Pack, led by trainer and franchise owner Tia Ybarra. The Harmony Pack isn’t just a name — it’s a reflection of the community Tia grew up in and the tight-knit, client-first culture she’s built around her training practice. When you work with the Harmony Pack, you work directly with Tia: a credentialed professional, a dog aggression specialist, and one of the most dedicated trainers in the region. This article will tell you who Tia and the Harmony Pack are, what they offer, and how to get started.

Meet Tia Ybarra: The Heart of the Paw & Order Harmony Pack

Tia’s story starts where a lot of great dog trainers’ stories start — with a deep, early love for animals and a determination to understand them at a level most people never bother to. Growing up right here in Butler County, Tia was immersed in books about dogs from a young age. Her hands-on journey began when her father introduced her to dock diving before he passed away — a memory she carries with her into her work every day. She competed as a junior handler with her aunt’s Mountain Cur mix, driving in from Ithaca, New York for events, and the experience lit something in her that never went out. In 2016, Tia began her professional career as a freelance dog trainer, initially specializing in service dogs. She trained her own medical alert and response service dog, Fizz, and in doing so discovered something important: her true passion wasn’t just service work — it was obedience and behavioral modification for pet dogs, especially the challenging cases that other trainers walk away from. That pursuit of the hard cases eventually led her to Paw & Order, where she built the Harmony Pack into one of the most credentialed and well-rounded training operations in western Pennsylvania.

Tia’s Credentials

Tia brings a level of formal credentialing that is rare in an industry with no licensing requirements:

  • AKC Certified Trainer — Certified through the American Kennel Club, one of the most recognized credentialing bodies in dog training
  • Canine Good Citizen Evaluator — An approved AKC evaluator who can officially test and certify your dog for the CGC title
  • W3PO Certified Judge — A certified judge for World Wide Weight Pull International
  • IACP Member — A member of the International Association of Canine Professionals, with ongoing education including seminars on “Training Between The Ears,” “Advanced Canine Fitness,” and “Aggression In Dogs”
  • Dog Aggression Specialist — Extensive specialized training in canine aggression, allowing Tia to address challenging behavioral issues that many local trainers are not equipped to handle

When the Harmony Pack says they can help your dog, they’re speaking from a foundation that most trainers in the area simply don’t have.

Why Balanced Training Works — And Why the Harmony Pack Uses It

Paw & Order is a balanced training organization, and the Harmony Pack operates by that same philosophy. That means Tia uses all four quadrants of operant conditioning — both rewards and clear, fair corrections — to communicate with your dog in a way they genuinely understand.
Balanced training is particularly effective for the kinds of behavioral problems that bring most Butler County families to the Harmony Pack in the first place. We’re not talking about a dog that won’t perform a trick on command. We’re talking about:

  • A dog that charges the fence line every time a neighbor walks by
  • A dog that has snapped at or bitten a family member or guest
  • A dog that pulls so hard on leash that walks have become a dreaded chore
  • A dog that resource guards its food, toys, or furniture with frightening intensity
  • A dog that has already “failed” another training program

These are not problems that resolve with treats and patience alone. They require clear communication, consistent follow-through, and a trainer who understands canine behavior at a deep level. That’s exactly what the Harmony Pack provides.

Tia is frequently the second, third, or even fourth trainer a family has worked with. If you’ve been told your dog is “too far gone,” or if you’ve tried positive-only approaches that didn’t hold up in the real world, the Harmony Pack would like to meet your dog.

Dog Training Programs Offered by the Paw & Order Harmony Pack

In-Home Dog Training

Tia comes to your home — in Butler, Cranberry Township, Zelienople, Mars, Evans City, Warrendale, Harmony, or wherever you are in the service area — and works with you and your dog in the environment where the problems actually happen. Programs typically include 4–5 core lessons, with lifetime support included after your program ends.

Stay & Train (Board & Train)

Your dog lives with Tia and receives intensive, all-day training for approximately three weeks. This is the Harmony Pack’s specialty territory — Tia’s background in aggression and behavioral modification makes this program uniquely well-suited for dogs that other trainers have turned away.

Group Dog Training Classes

Small classes with a maximum of 5 dogs, covering fundamental obedience skills. Open to most behavioral challenges, with the exception of active aggression cases.

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Testing

As an AKC-approved CGC evaluator, Tia can officially test and certify your dog for the Canine Good Citizen title. CGC testing is available to the public — no prep class required.

Virtual Dog Training

For clients outside the Harmony Pack’s in-person service area. Tia observes your dog’s behavior through video, assesses the root causes, and provides step-by-step guidance. Availability is limited.

Hybrid Programs

Combine elements of in-home and Stay & Train into a custom plan. Contact Tia directly to discuss what a hybrid program might look like for your situation.

Adventures — Free for All Clients

The Harmony Pack organizes regular group outings — hikes, dog-friendly social events, and real-world practice opportunities — completely free for all Paw & Order clients.

Frequently Asked Questions — Dog Training in Butler, PA

How is the Paw & Order Harmony Pack different from other dog trainers in Butler County?

Tia holds multiple professional certifications that most local trainers don’t — including dog aggression, therapy dog, and CGC testing. And as a balanced trainer, the Harmony Pack can address behavioral problems that positive-only approaches simply can’t resolve reliably.

Can the Harmony Pack work with aggressive dogs?

Yes — and this is one of Tia’s genuine specialties. Her extensive training in canine aggression means the Harmony Pack takes cases that other trainers in the area turn away. If your dog has a bite history, guards resources aggressively, or is reactive toward other dogs or strangers, Tia would like to evaluate them.

My dog already went through training and it didn’t stick. Can you help?

This is one of the most common situations the Harmony Pack encounters. Most clients who find Paw & Order have already tried something else. The difference usually comes down to methodology: balanced training creates reliability in real-world conditions that treat-only training often can’t sustain.

What age should I start training my puppy?

As early as possible — Paw & Order recommends starting as young as 8 weeks of age. That said, it’s never too late. The Harmony Pack regularly works with adult dogs of all ages and histories.

What is the Canine Good Citizen program?

The AKC Canine Good Citizen program is a nationally recognized certification demonstrating your dog meets a standard of obedience and good manners. As an approved evaluator, Tia can test and certify your dog for this title — sometimes required for therapy work, apartment living, or breed-specific insurance situations.
